First of all, I suggest you to read the full tips to understand all the information. I cannot guarantee that it works well for all devices...so if you trust in this thread, go for it; if you don't, caution!
This manipulation is only suitable for Speed Passion Reventon Pro ESC, don't try it with your SP Reventon R or S; the PC MuchMore program does not handle specifics software of these versions.
The main advantage to upgrade your SP device into a MuchMore one is the following: the MuchMore Stock1 V20 software is far better (meaning better finished) than the SP one. I hope the MuchMore stock0 V20 software fixes the overheating problems encountered with the SP one.
The names of the adjustable parameters are not the same: for example, 'Hybrid Boost Active' become 'Boost Timing' and 'Hybrid Boost Max' become 'Turbo Timing', just like in the previous versions.
The upgrade of the software involves two steps:
1) ESC upgrade
This is the easiest manipulation: you have to download and install the V1_1_0_22 version of the Speed Passion PC program and also the MuchMore PC program. We will actually use both programs for now.
Once done by the «rules», you have to connect the Speed Passion LCD Setting Box with your PC, then connect it with your ESC and launch the MuchMore PC program (CAUTION! Don't connect any battery while connecting your ESC to your PC).
Then click on the « update firmware » tab and in the list that appears, you will normally see some to software with their own names all followed by « - for Reventon ». Select the software that you are interested in. The stock0 V20 software is for blinky mode and the stock1 V20 software is for boost and timing.
I say 'normally' because when I connected my upgraded ESC ('sotck0V20 - for Reventon' software) to the Speed Passion PC program, if I wanted to put a SP software in my ESC back, there was an error message 'No related files'. So I wasn’t able to reinstall the Speed Passion software anymore nor adjust the parameters with the SP program.
But, then, when I connected the ESC to the MuchMore PC program, my Reventon Pro was recognized as Fleta 4 by the program.
It is the part I understand the least as I searched a bit...It should normally work!
I guess there is a kind of 'transition' MuchMore software ('- for Reventon') to link properly between SP software and MuchMore one during upgrade.
If you cannot find the transition software (so followed by '- for Reventon'), I guess you can directly use MuchMore software, it should work the same.
There is 3 MuchMore softwares:
- 'p-sto0V20-0b36' software (blinky mode/no timing) that is the same as the Stock 0 V20 software from SP.
- 'p-sto1V20-4aee' software that is the same as the Stock 1 V20 software from SP. This software allows timing and boost set-up.
- 'p-sto1v19-384e' software that is pretty the same as the Mod 2 V20 software from SP. It does not really interest because it is the same as the 'p-sto1V20-4aee' but with fewer possibilities for power and timing settings. Developed initially for modified motors like 4.5t,..., this software is hardly used, mod racers preferring the stock1 V20, that can offer even more power and plenty of speed.
2) How to upgrade the Speed Passion LCD setting box into a MuchMore one
The standard ways to update your LCD setting box won't work in the first instance: indeed, if you connect the upgraded SP ESC to the SP LCD setting box (not upgraded), without launching the PC program, nothing happens and it is impossible to scroll through the programmable items. But if you connect the SP LCD setting box and your upgraded ESC to the MuchMore PC program, the LCD setting box fulfills properly its role as intermediary and everything is well configurable through the MuchMore PC program.
Moreover, if you try to update the firmware of your SP LCD setting box via the MuchMore PC program, it does not work. So you have to use the SP PC program to update and upgrade your LCD program box (to a MuchMore one) and to use the MuchMore PC program to update the softwares of your upgraded SP ESC.
So, to upgrade the SP LCD program box to a MuchMore one, here is the way to do:
If you use Windows 7 and if you havn’t changed the destination of the file storing the MuchMore program in your computer during installation (see link above 'Software Install Guide'), you have to get the firmware of the MuchMore card :Start => Computer => C Drive (x86) => MuchMore => MuchMore Fleta => assets => LCD_FLETA_V1.4.pgdYou have to copy then de .pgd file and paste it in the 'assets' file of the SP file:Start => Computer => C Drive (x86)=> Speed Passion => Reventon 1.1.0 => assets.Once done, you just have to update your LCD box according to the standard procedure but be careful: you have to do this via the Speed Passion PC program, not the MuchMore one; if you try with this one, you will have a 'No related files' error message. To complete the upgrade, you will have to select in the scrolling list of the SP PC program the LCD_FLETA_V1.4 firmware.
Here is the standard way to update your LCD Box: see this page. To upgrade your SP LCD card to MuchMore, select the LCD_FLETA_V1.4 version of the LCD card firmware.
Caution!!!! Do this procedure with the SP PC program, not with the MuchMore PC program as shown in the link, but it is the same way to proceed.
Also, don't connect your ESC during the update of your LCD box.
When done, connect your upgrade ESC and launch the MuchMore PC program, you will normally see on the LCD box screen 'MuchMore **FLETA**'. You can now select the ESC software that suits you and do all the settings via the upgraded LCD Box with or without your computer.
The upgrade process is done! And all will work properly. I tried it and the upgrade is a real success! Let's start racing.
In a nutshell:-LCD Program Box firmware update => via the Speed Passion PC program having previously copied / pasted MuchMore files you want (. pgd) in the SP folderIt's a bit less convenient to use two PC program but there are not much LCD program firmware update. So the only MuchMore PC program is suitable for most applications (software exchange, settings,...).
-MuchMore ESC software update => via the MuchMore PC program, if you use MuchMore software in your Reventon Pro.
Here are all the links related to the PC program and MuchMore software:
-Fleta 4 introduction and various tab explaining software install guide, PC interface used, program card update,...
-MuchMore support for Fleta 4
-Explanations of the impact of different settings of the ESC
-MuchMore PC program download link
You know now all! Once again, I cannot guarantee the fact that it will work properly everytime but I'm pretty confident nonetheless.
I guess the manipulation is reversible, so no worries about it: you could normally put SP software in your ESC back.
